Sophie Tucker letter, mentions recording for OKeh records. . Nov 21 (1923) Great letter, mentions she has "written to Pres. Heineman to try and have me record while in Chicago while I have such good songs". (Otto Heineman was President and General Manager of the General Phonograph Corp., which produced OKeh records, Sophie's recording company at the time. This is what probably resulted in her early 1924 recordings. . . Sophie also answers / comments on Aileen Stanley, "Miss Stanley is a charming girl and you'll find a great many in our proffession (sic) who are 'regulars'" Each page is about 9-1/2 X 6 inches - mounting is 13 X 10 inches. Letter - 2 separate pages - is on letterheads of The Saint Paul hotel in Saint Paul. Pages are mounted behind plastic for protection, the corners mounted in old-type photo mounts. Photos may appear somewhat darker than actual - due to my poor photography, but patters and writing are sharp and quite clear, despot the paper having slightly turned a light tan due to age. Great vintage item to enhance any Sophie Tucker collection. Very fine condition. Postage will be $6.00, and not any differing amount that may erroneously appear within this listing.
