Description
The price here is unmatched. You will get every title you see here, its a huge lot, and many really classic titles too! Many are presented in mono, and in many cases the mono mix was never mastered for CD. Up through about 1965 in the US, mono was the mix they cared about because its what everybody bought!
Most are VG, many better, a few not so hot... but frankly very few, and for this price someone is going to be pretty happy! There is a Nat Cole title on the old gray label, that one does have one skip but the rest sounds pretty nice. One of the lime green capitol ones has a pressing defect that causes a skip on one song only "Where Are You" which is the 1st track - its a bundled two lp set (re-titled versions of Wee Small Hours -which sounds nice - and Where Are You) and the rest is ok, with cover still in shrink circa 1969!! To the best of my knowledge there are no other skips but please understand I did not play every album entirely, hence the low price on this lot. It is sold as is as found, the buyer acknowledges this by buying and there are no returns. I did play cuts from several including the Sinatra Jobim mono (complete - its a personal favorite) and it sounded nice, Close To You sounded nice, Wee Small (I love this so I played the whole thing as well) sounded nice, Sinatra & Strings has marks all over it but played better than I expected, All The Way played well, Sinatra Ellington played very nice and "Indian Summer" is on here, its one of so many high points and in my opinion the best song on the album. Basie Might As Well Be Swing sounded nice (I played all of the side with "Fly Me To The Moon"), My Way Sounded Nice, That's life and Strangers In The Night sounded nice, Come Fly With Me sounded nice, Sinatra Ellington and A Man and His Music (2 lp set) too - Frank speaks throughout the albums briefly talking about the songs, then they play - its a superb smattering of early reprise material up to circa 1965. Secure packing.
