Wow! An apparently unreleased Dama Damawuzan remix album of JB-style funk and latin inspired grooves layered with dirty, William Onyeabor style synths and drum computers to create a super trippy, layered vibe that is unlike anything else you ever heard from that part of the world! These mixes are based on his earlier recordings which are deep, polyrhythmic compositions; the remix treatment, rather than simply transforming them into disco anthems, adds to the rich texture of sounds and rhythms, such as on the James Brown inspired 'Do you know my name' when the groove makes room for a breakdown. There's also a superb latin tune, 'El trabajo'.
