From the year when roots reggae ruled the roost and Delroy Wilson kept his promise about better days to come as MR COOL OPERATOR. Recorded at Joe Gibbs in 1977. Despite the suffereration the optimist keeps on top as the update of "Better Must Come" that closes this lp also attests to. Highlights include "You Will Have To Pay Some Day", "Give Love A Try", "Money", "Why Can't We Live Together", "Let's Make A Family", the scorchin' title track and more. Several originals and a couple cover songs. Twelve terrific tunes. Cool runnings.

The ORIGINAL EJI UK vinyl is in excellent condition (but for the scratch thru A5 & 6) with no warp and no skips so VG+. The original cover is in VG+ shape with no disc imprints, no split seams and no handwriting anywhere. It's getting better all the time. Born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1948, Delroy has been singing most of his life. His earliest known hit 'I Shall Not Remove' have appeared on a variety of Jamaican labels, until 1970 when he had his biggest and most influential hit, 'Better Must Come' which, in reflecting social-consciousness, located the ambition and outreaches of the mass of the Jamaican poor. This tune received wide spread popularity and became the political anthem of the P.N.P. party, the present government of Jamaica. This album partly expresses the themes that occupy Delroy's life. His most constant preoccupation has been the theme of Love.
