Prince Pato Expedition - Firebird 1 (BEACON BEAS 21, 1972) LP
Bloody rare lp this, only came out in the UK, and very scarce, doesn't turn up very often, so grab it now!
This is hugely slept on record in my eyes, not very well known at all outside collector circles. Dancing In The Jungle has been comped a couple of times, most notably on PLANET OF THE BREAKS back in 99. That aint the only dope track though, the lp is solid through-out, with Kilimanjaro and Addis Adeba stand out cuts. Funk breaks, bongo breaks, Afro grooves, this record has it all. Up there with some of the very best library lps like KPM Afro Rock. Heard this may even have been a library musician in disguise. Only thing that doesnt make this a classic is the over dubbed jungle effects added at a later date! Think the f**kin engineer must have had a vendetta against the band or something, what a tool!!
Sleeve- VG++. Real nice condtion. Slight wear to middle opening.
Record- VG+/VG++. Plays nice. Fine hairline scratches to record that doesn't affect play.
