"Psychedelic Crown Jewels Vol. 2" picks up were Vol. 1 off, and fills in all the gaps from the first set. The liner notes indicate an unrest and injustice that greedy record distributors so unfairly gave many of these great sixties groups.

All of these groups, at least those that could be located, were very willing to provide pictures, acetates, and any other information that was needed to make this beautiful two LP set come alive. Therefore, in a very real way, justice has been served by making the music buying public aware of these once forgotten groups. An informative sheet with a listing of all the songs, a short biography, and review of the group's styles are provided to read as you listen.

Sixties psychedelic music jump-started a change in rock music that would inspire a creative revitalization that continues to this day. I am very grateful to Akarma Records for working so hard to deliver this missing piece of musical history. Some of the tracks are very good and others are mediocre. The volume of material lends itself to some inconsistencies; nevertheless, this set is an absolute joy to hear. The variety, and in the same sense, the similarities of groups, and their sound, are what makes this a very special experience.

A time to be remembered is one to be kept close to our hearts. Music like this invites introspection, recollection, and perhaps reassessment, of whom and what was the driving force of change in music, as it's understood from a historical standpoint. My hat goes off to all the participants in this project. The true spirit of the music dissolves the past and the wrongdoing that many of these talented people fell upon. God bless rock and roll.
