Artist: CHUCK RIO and The ORIGINALS
Title: “Margarita” / “C’est La Vie”
Label: JACKPOT ~ 48016. Label is buttercup yellow, with black text.
Year: 1959
Notes: Daniel Flores is best known as Chuck Rio. This was due to contracting. (Much like Buddy Holly performed under the Decca label as himself, and as the Crickets under the Brunswick label to avoid stipulations) Flores and his group, The Champs, scored a major hit in 1958 with their release of “Tequila” on the Challenge label. In 1959, as Chuck Rio & The Originals, Flores cut a similar sounding single "Margarita." Structurally, the song is very much like "Tequila" - right down to the single title word being uttered in between musical breaks.
Only 22 singles were issued on Jackpot, which was a subsidiary of Challenge Records. By 1960 the label has ceased operations.
Condition: VG++ with 100% of original gloss. There are a couple very slight scuffs, but no serious marks. Fidelity is superb. Labels are clean and pristine.
(Note: There is a very tiny bubble in the vinyl that does not affect the playback in any way.) There are no serious issues or flaws. Winning bidder will be quite pleased!
