Rare GRAY Colored Vinyl
From back cover:
THE BALLAD OF JOHN AND YOKO is the 1st take were John forgets the last vers and sings Da-Da-da instead. OLD BROWN SHOE is an entirely different recording, just listen to this surprising guitar solo in the middle. COME TOGETHER is not a 'proper' studio recording rathet than just John with friend trying out a crude version of this title. SOMETHING and YOU NEVER GIVE ME YOUR MONEY are a good example of how the Beatles were working in a time when the end seamed in hand. Althoug tention was high they still managed to jam at the end both songs the same way thay did in the good old Hamburg days. One just wonders why these superb versions were not includede on the album instead of the 'formal' versions. OLD MULE SKINNER is, in fact Paul signing parts of several titles (Beatles and non Beatles) including this one, alone in the studio, in order to try them as possible attachments to other songs. Oh Darling benefinted from this sessiosn. The other tacks are all in the same vain and all are chrystal clear recordings.
This album is a real treat to everyone who known 'Abbey Road' by heart and wants to imagine how it could be done if Sir George would less concentrate on polishing and more dedicated to the true spirit of the Beatles in the spring of 1969.
