the BEATLES' CHRISTMAS Album
1st pressing "FAN CLUB" "promotion only" LP of
all their compiled, previous custom
Christmas greetings by year - see the label photos.
the vinyl is VISUALLY Graded:
vinyl looks strong VG+ to VG++ on both sides.
BELL SOUND logo is machine stamped in the dead-wax,
The pressing does NOT have the characteristic 1 5/8 indention of the Winchester
pressing plant but as far as we know the bell sound logo has NEVER
been used on any counterfeit recording in history
(it's an extra expense for any bootlegger and might double production costs)
it has the "Winchester, Virginia"
(pressing plant) hand-etched "rifle (trumpet) logo"
So on this one we have to say YOU BE THE JUDGE
we cannot verify it one way or another.
We checked all the intros and outros and also spot-checked the sound quality on each song:
The first track on side one, "DEC. 1963" has light to moderate random surface crackles,
but it goes away completely at the end of the track, before the next song, suggesting
this LP was mastered from vinyl and flexi-disc original sources of varying quality.
The rest of the songs on this side play MUCH more quietly, and the minor soft random
crackle on this first tune. Only the second song on the B-side, "DEC. 1968" has a bit of similar,
but even less obvious, random light unobtrusive surface noise.
Both sides of the jacket lamination have the faintest shelf-wear, more visible on the back side,
see our close-ups.
The FRONT looks strongest. The spine and seams are mostly intact,
and there's very minor wear of the corner points, and a small ding in the upper spine -
