Early Smiths UK single releases were promoted with 7" 'white label' ( 'yellow' see additional info below ) test pressings rather than the more common 12" pressings which accompanied the later releases.

This auction is for an extremely rare and collectable white label 7" pressing of 'Hand in Glove', released in 1984 ,issued, in a plain black paper outer sleeve.

Also as an added bonus !!!..... the white label did not come with a pic sleeve but whilst i was working for  virgin megastores at the time I persuaded the record company rep to give me his copy of the sleeve.

This copy has been unplayed... the run off in the cente reads '' kiss my shades'' etched into it

HAS BEEN KEPT IN A 7'' PVC SLEEVE SINCE 1984 - SLEEVE & VINYL IN MINT CONDITION

Additional information:
This is actually a Sandie Shaw release, but it is listed here because the songs are all previously released Smiths ones, the label Rough Trade is the one the Smiths were signed to at the time, and Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce were the musicians while Morrissey did back vocals.

Cover star is Rita Tushingham from "A Taste Of Honey" directed by Tony Richardson [1961].

"Kiss my shades", words taken from the Smiths version of the song "Hand In Glove", was also the etching of the Smiths original single. The b-side etching is Johnny Marr's initials.

UK: This single was promoted with white label copies of the 7" format. The labels on these were actually light yellow instead of white
