Description
1962 Hale Rood Jazz Industrial Film Soundtrack (Music to Make Automobiles By)
“Music to Make Automobiles By" (Marathon Industrial Productions MG-7-79699). This record was released simultaneously to the 1962 short film 'The Right Hand Of Plenty' and contains swinging jazz music for the film led by trombonist Hale Rood (Eberle, Puente, Goodman, Shearing.) It is a fascinating film showing the future of computer involvement in the development, manufacture and maintenance of the automobile, notably the Volkswagon Beetle. The film opens with a very interesting segment on the punch-card auto dial telephone of the future. Cuts include: "The Right Hand of Plenty", Train Arrival "Freewheeling", Press Sequence "Drag Out", Welding "Welders' Tune", Body Preperation "Minor Romp", Painting "Easy Does It", Final Assembly "Tail Light", and Car Onto The Train "Shipping Out" This record was also released in monophonic, sans the stereo logo on the upper right of front cover. An additional '7' denoted stereo pressings (MG 7-79698/MG 7-79699) to differentiate mono (MG 79698/MG 79699) pressings. Stereo. Gatefold cover. Record is in strong VG+ condition and cover is in strong VG condition (some light edge wear.)
