These sounds and the machines that make them inspired Hale Rood to create the jazz score for an unusual motion picture, "THE RIGHT HAND OF PLENTY." Portions of his score from this movie about the production of Volkswagen are used to separate the distinctive factory sounds on Side II of this record. This record was released simultaneously to the 1962 short film 'The Right Hand Of Plenty' and contains swinging jazz music for the film by Hale Rood. It is a fascinating film showing the future of computer involvement in the development, manufacture and maintenance of the automobile, notably the Volkswagon Beetle. The film opens with a very interesting segment on the punch-card auto dial telephone of the future.
