Cat- PCS 3042
UK STEREO pressing, summer 1963, no Tax code indication on labels. Original Black and Yellow Parlophone labels, the first label to proceed the Black and Gold labels of the early presses. 'Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter text. Matrix numbers YEX 94-1, YEX 95-1, 1P/1G stampers. Importantly there is the presence of the small 33 1/3 appearing next to the matrix numbers printed on the labels front and back, which indicates that this is a THIRD pressing of the STEREO version. Correct first state sleeve, with Angus McBean in correct position, EJ Day printed sleeve.
Condition
Record- The record itslef presenting very well, visual grading-
Side One VG+/EX-, Side Two VG+
The playing surfaces presents very well some light wear, minor hairlines and light surface marks noticed, but nothing heavy or feelable that distracts from the play back. Side one only just better on inspection. Labels both clean some minor spindle hole rubbing but no heavy marks or wear, housed in correct poly lined EMITEX inner sleeve.
Audio Grading- The record has been professionally clean on a project mk 1 cleaner. The audio grading exceeds the visual grade consistently, good clear crisp audio, some light surface noise occasinally noticed, during less busy passages, run ins outs, No skips jumps or significant audible issues. EX
Sleeve- Original EJ Day sleeve with flipback, with correctly alligned Angus Mcbean credit. Not the most attractive sleeve cosmetically but present. The front showing some wear creasing rubbing loss and repair. The corners having some rounding, edge rubbing and general storage wear, creasing and closed tear repairing towards the opening edge, the opening edge showing some other nibbles and nicks, some edge splitting repairs but solid, the spine edge text is rubbed, corners rubbed lightly exposed. The back fairing similar, there isnt any heavy staining to the back panel, some light toning and minor marks with age, some songs circled in red pen, some rubbing and loss to some areas of the flipbacks. Some areas of loss being neatly replaced and repaired, opening edge top and bottom (repaired areas and reinforcement noticed on the inside of the sleeve. Some creasing and other general marks. Clearly not the greatest sleeve but its a tough one to find in any sort of condition, likely GOOD+. Probably advisable to view the extensive photo gallery for a full visual of the condition throughout.
