Description

Cover has black bottom printed edge and excludes "featuring" text on front top. Labels have red and black six "eye" design. LP housed in company sleeve. Dave Brubeck's defining masterpiece, Time Out is one of the most rhythmically innovative albums in jazz history, the first to consciously explore time signatures outside of the standard 4/4 beat or 3/4 waltz time. It was a risky move -- Brubeck's record company wasn't keen on releasing such an arty project, and many critics initially roasted him for tampering with jazz's rhythmic foundation. But for once, public taste was more advanced than that of the critics. Buoyed by a hit single in altoist Paul Desmond's ubiquitous "Take Five," Time Out became an unexpectedly huge success.
First edition that with the original "6-eye" labels and original cover that doesn't yet hype the songs that later became hits--"Blue Rondo a la Turk" and the all-time classic "Take Five". This LP is an essential cornerstone of any jazz collection!

CONDITION:
See photos for condition. Cover has some wear but is and bright. No splits or tears or bends. Disc is great and plays great, very glossy and like new; there are a few marks but don't seem to impact the play, and plays with very little noise. No original sleeve but I've supplied a sleeve.
