80s METAL Triple Shot KINGDOM COME, Y&T, and KEEL Rare SHAPED Vinyl Singles

Many metal bands became successful in the 80s. A few became superstars (like Motley Crue, Metallica, Ozzy, and Poison, to name just a few), but many others had moderate success. Today, we shine a spotlight on three of those bands, who had a few hits, and many of them great songs, but who never broke into the platinum gang. And the cool part is that these are SHAPED picture discs, with awesome artwork!

First up is Kingdom Come. Kingdom Come actually had some good songs. German born singer Lenny Wolf was in a band called Stone Fury for a few years before forming Kingdom Come in 1987. In 1988, the band released their self-titled debut album. The thing about this release is the many comparisons to Led Zeppelin. A conscience effort, I'm sure! Gary Moore pokes fun at Kingdom Come and Whitesnake with a duet from one of his albums titled "Led Clones" (with Ozzy Osbourne)!

If you can get past the Zeppelin thing, the first album isv actually really good. Kingdom Come is here today with the big hit from their debut, titled "Get It On", and on a shaped picture disc! Backed with the tracks "17" and "Loving You". Danny Stag and Rick Steier are the only original members currently still in the band. Original drummer James Kottak, who also spent ten years with The Scorpions, passed away in January, a few months ago. (RIP James. You helped make Kingdom Come an 80s metal powerhouse, and was an awesome drummer with The Scorpions. You are missed!)

Next we have a band called Y&T. Y&T is short for Yesterday and Today (also the name of a Beatles' album). Y&T formed in 1972, and released their first album in 1976. By the early 80s, the band was on their way to metal domination! Sadly, they never saw the kind of success that many of their peers did. They released albums through 2010, and are still performing shows (occasionally). Founder, singer, and lead guitarist Dave Meniketti is the only original member still in the group at this time. The band came out with the album 'Mean Streak' in 1983. That hard rockin' classic turned FORTY last year! The title track is slammin' and is here today with a shaped picture disc of that great song! Backed with "Straight Thru' the Heart". The metallic snake is a variation from the album's cover art.

Last, but surely not least, we have a shaped picture disc from the band Keel. Keel was produced by Gene Simmons in the early days (he produced  quite a few 80s metal bands such as Keel, Doro, House of Lords, EZO, Wendy O Williams and Black and Blue). This song comes from the Keel album 'The Final Frontier', (produced by Gene Simmons). And it's a remake of a song written by Bruce Springsteen and punk pioneer Patti Smith, called "Because the Night". Backed with the track "Rock and Roll Animal". And the artwork from the cover of the album is on the A side, with band pics, song titles, and credits on the B side.

Founder, singer, and guitarist Ron Keel is still active in the music business, as well as being an author, radio talk show host, owner and founder of RFK Media, and the leader of the Ron Keel band. These days he wears a cowboy hat, and plays country rock and southern rock (really well), and his band is amazing!

Each one of these are around forty years old (give or take a few years). They all have surface marks on them, but nothing too deep. The colors are still bright and intense! A really nice triple shot of 80s metal shaped picture discs, from a long ago decade with big hair and loud guitars!
