LP Anne Briggs – same title – Topic Records 12T 207. Made and printed in England. Orig. mono issue on blue & silver Topic label. Comes with orig red/mono company innerbag. Sleeve, labels and innerbag in mintish condition – vinyl LP in excellent condition (very light surface wear; proably from innerbag). This is Anne Briggs first LP and it is most impressive and essential. Very rare and elusive UK folk LP; high up on may wants lists worldwide. Anne Briggs is one of England`s most inventive and passionate folk singers. Her singing was a seminal influence on many other singers such as Maddy Prior, June Tabor, Sandy Denny and Norma Waterson. This album confirmed her stature as one of the most influential female vocalists of the day. Anne Briggs has a great respect for the tradition. She sang like nobody else, she didn`t mess about, there was no histrionics or posing, she sang fluidly, easily with tremendous passion a truly unique talent. You will adore this gem.
