666 (Vertigo 6333 500 / 501)

Here’s a staggering copy of one of the rarest Vertigo releases, Vangelis and Costas Ferris's double concept LP about the book of Revelation, as released in the UK in March 1972. Not only is this copy in amazing condition, it comes with a thick 4-page card promo booklet detailing the background to the LP, which reveals that 'an evil spirit was present at the recording of 666'. No dealer or collector I have spoken to has ever seen or heard of another copy of this insert.

SLEEVE CONDITION

The laminated gatefold sleeve is in lovely EX condition, glossy and bright. The spine is in perfect condition, and the laminate has no bubbling. It is a deep crimson colour, unlike the more orange-tinged reprints. The front does not have the credit to Vangelis and Ferris which the later issues have. The gatefold interior is in perfect NM shape. Please note that this is guaranteed to be an English sleeve - many UK copies seem to come in French or German sleeves, but not this one.

VINYL CONDITION

Both discs and all four labels are in beautiful, unmarked, unplayed NM condition, as viewed under bright light. This copy cannot be upgraded. It comes complete with both original Vertigo inner bags, which are also in crisp and unused condtion.

INSERT CONDITION

The stiff card insert is in perfect NM shape, with no creases, tears or writing.

Overall this has to be one of the best original UK copies of this prog / psych landmark in existence.
