ARDY STRÜWER the painter of love presents PREGNANT RAINBOWS FOR COLOURBLIND DREAMERS ... 7-inch, 45rpm, one-sided single. Original SWEDISH pressing on EDITIONS SONET label from circa 1968. Legendary, private press, Swedish objet d'art and very funky spiritual jazz item from cult artist, Ardy Strüwer. Erotic, hand-painted screenprint design to one side and incredible psychedelic jazz theme on the black and white label side. Sounds like the missing big track from the Sabu Martinez Afro Temple session with heavy latin bongos / congas / flute / free jazz horns and delirious, funky drums. Atmospheric thunderstorm claps and rain shower FX with a long spoken word / percussion intro, before the explosive music kicks off. The single is rumoured to be a micro press run of just 99 copies and all are said to have a slight dish due to the paint on one side. Also, all copies are said to play with audible crackles, most probably due to the actual pressing. The few copies we have ever seen, always looked VG at best too. This is a desirable item and what a track :) Our soundclip opens with the funky music phase, followed by the full theme, in its entirety. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare 45!!!

Musicians:

Ardy Struwer - vocals / bongos

Jan Kling - reeds

Frank Andersson - drums

Lasse Aberg - bells / maracas

Kofi Ayivor - congas

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, VG condition with scuffs / hairlines and some mini scratches. Surface noises. Pops and ticks (especially, to the long spoken word intro and also the outro (as you can hear on our soundclip). Vinyl is slightly dished due to the paint on one side but all copies seem to be like this. Natural age discoloration and some dirt marks to label. Record housed in plain white card sleeve. Very rare 45!!! psych
