The auction is for the UHQR (Ultra High Quality Recording) Record of the Alan Parsons Project masterpiece I Robot. Manufactured by MFSL (Mobil Fidelity Sound Lab) & released in 1981.
I bought this record new and have only played it a few times. There are some condition issues to the box cover, record cover (nick). Side one has a few noticeable scratches, beginning, 2nd and third tracks. There is some loud popping from the scratches. I believe there are three major scratches that are the cause of the noise/popping and a scuff. Side 2, isn't as bad. I would rate side 1, as a VG+ and side two as E+ (but not NM-). The box is VG, the inner jacket VG+, inner sleeve VG++.The box set when opened has a protective foam pad. On the underside of the lid in a sleeve is the UHQR certificate of authenticity it is hand numbered and signed by hand this copy is # 419 of the 5000 made. The record is in a separate sleeve inside the box that also has a heavy inner white sleeve the record itself is in a soft rice paper sleeve. The bottom of box has another foam pad for the ultimate protection. The technical specifications manual is enclosed. The record itself weighs 200 grams and is mastered at half speed on virgin vinyl the extra time spent on the pressing gives this record the highest quality sound reproduction possible.
