Amancio D'Silva - "Integration" IAN CARR - Mega rare - UK JAZZ LP COLUMBIA

Amancio D'Silva (U.K. Jazz, Ian Carr) "Integration"

Mega rare U.K. Jazz lp pressing on Columbia Records circa 1969. Lp includes Ian Carr, Don Rendell, Dave Green and Trevor Tomkins. (Vinyl is VG, Cover has some wear from price sticker removal on front and a small seem split approx 1 inch top, rated VG (SX 6322) )

Of all the attempts to bring together Jazz and Indian music, this must be one of the most successful. Born in Goa, D'Silva was brought up in the Indian classical tradition, but took to jazz early in life and became a first-rate guitarist. In London during the late 1960s, he got together with British musicians to record three albums, of which this was the first. The ease with which they found common ground is clear from the start of the opening number, 'Ganges', a joint composition by D'Silva and trumpeter Ian Carr, and the remarkable title piece, which is a virtually free improvisation by D'Silva, saxophonist Don Rendell and bassist Dave Green. They strike a perfect balance between the two idioms, and there is none of that phoney 'Eastern' flavouring, featuring sitars and such like, so fashionable at the time. D'Silva plays electric guitar throughout, and the music swings in a completely natural way.

Record is clean and bright with light marks.

Original non-lamnated sleeve is intact, shelfwear to edges - Price sticker and approx 1 inch seam split.

Cover

Ex

Excellent

The record looks new or almost new with few signs of having been played, will be shiny, scratch free with no scratches, scuffs or blemishes.

The cover looks new or almost new, the only signs of age may be slight wear to the corners.

VG+

Very Good, almost Excellent

A few more signs of having been played, with very few marks that are only just visible and not audible.

The cover is still in generally excellent condition, shiny (where appropriate) with no folds or tears, but may have some minor scuffs to the spine.

VG

Very Good

There may be a few minor hairline scratches or minor scuffs that are visible but not audible. Used but well cared for. Label can have some very small marks.

A few imperfections, minor ring wear, but still looking smart. There may be signs of a sticker having been removed.

G+

Good, almost Very Good

Some signs wear particularly from extensive usage, surface scuffs with maybe a scratch on it. These flaws can be seen on examination and some may be audible.  However, the record has been looked after and such audible flaws as there are will not prevent enjoyment.

A few minor creases and scuffs (particularly to the spine) has some minor creases, possibly minor ring wear, signs of sticker removal, but still looking pretty smart (if a bit older).

G

Good

Record shows wear, possibly scuffs, some scratches from extensive usage.  These will be very visible to casual inspection and some likely to be audible on replay, but the record is listenable and potentially enjoyable.

Some creasing or bends, marks due to the removal of stickers, may have a seam-split with taped repair, likely some ring wear, maybe some (but not much) writing on the cover.

Due to the amount of questions and interest in this LP i listened to it again today.
I play tested the Lp the first time on the JVC QL-Y55F through CELESTION SL600 speakers and it sounded nice, just tested it on my THORENS with Sennheiser HD 600 Headphones and did here some light ticks on intro to track 3 side 1. and the quieter track 2. side 2. and some light crackle on the quieter track 2. side 2. NO JUMPS or MAJOR CLICKS. 3 light tracking scratches on Jaipur were not audible.  I really enjoyed listening to this album through my Headphones. I reckon a good clean would help. Hope this helps. Like is said it is rarely offered in any condition.
