Art Blakey
A Night at Birdland Volume 2
Blue Note 1522
RVG scratched into dead wax. Ear
767 Lexington Ave on both labels.
Vinyl= Looks VG but plays VG+ to EX in some parts. VG+ labels. Light wear.
Has some nice remaining shine with
some light paper scuffs and fine hairlines seen under the light.. Side two has
one longer scuff running across track one but nothing you can feel. Playing right
now as I work on this listing and it sounds great. There is some noticeable crackle
on the intro grooves but the music starts and you're good to go. I'm going to clean it
one more time on my Record Doctor V which should help. I did get a few light
pops and clicks on the ballad but honestly nothing that would ruin it. I'm also
getting some crackle at the end of track two side two where Art is talking to the audience
but like the music, it carries well above. The rest of side two sounds great with
some occasional light crackle mostly heard between tracks. Overall this is a really
nice player and should satisfy all but the pickiest NM collectors. If you want to save
a few bucks and don't mind the cover wear, this one is might be for you. Please read
everything thoroughly and or ask any question you may have before buying. Thanks.
Cover is G+ This has been taped at the bottom seam and spine. The top
edge seam hasn't been tapes but there is a 4" split about one third the way in. It is
also flaking too. There is also some scuffs and light staining is spots. The corners
are also soft. The backside has moderate browning age wear as well as some
scuffs and creases. Still not to shabby though and still looks good once slipped
into a quality poly sleeve.
