Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “The Big Beat” on the West 63rd labels of Blue Note BLP 4029. The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The laminated cover (no address, as issued) is clean and bright throughout; ¼” wear at the top left corner; two superficial lamination cracks near the top of the spine; 1/8” wear at the bottom left corner; ¼” wear at the bottom right corner; 1 ¼” crease at the bottom right corner, with lamination lifting; slight lamination lifting along the bottom of the opening; sun bleaching along the top edge; 1” chip at the bottom left corner of the back slick; the top seam has 3 ½” of light superficial wear and a 1 1/8” split at the opening. Personnel include Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons, and Jymie Merritt. $100.00.
