Description
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.
All photos are of the actual item on sale. I do not use stock or 'borrowed' images.

Mega Rare 'Mid Sized' STEREO Cover!
This listing is for an incredibly rare and impossible to find 'mid sized' STEREO cover copy of the Beatles debut LP 'Please Please Me'! Not only this, but the disc is the correct press with the older style layout but featuring the 'Sold in UK' statement.
This stereo variation of Please Please Me is by far the rarest and most hard to find of them all, and to find it with its original mid-sized stereo cover is near impossible!
Back in 1964 stereo was still very much something only the very well off could afford. Stereo discs cost more than their mono counterparts and stereophonic record players were still priced up to the point of being a highly expensive luxury. Because of this, the original stereo presses sold in tiny, tiny numbers whilst everyone bought the much cheaper mono presses. Today it is incredibly difficult to find the original stereo presses of their earlier albums!
Manufactured some time around early to mid 1964, it appears that Garrod and Lofthouse ran a few copies of the sleeve off using the smaller format that was being used on the Hard Day's Night sleeves. This happened for such a short time with an extremely limited production run and, today, it's nearly impossible to find today!

Title Please Please Me Year of Release 1964 Catalogue Number PCS 3042 Label Yellow / Black Parlophone with Parlo rimtext and Sold in UK statement Tax Code on Disc MT Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod and Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number YEX 94-1 Side 2 Matrix Number YEX 95-1 Side 1 Stampers 1 / RG Side 2 Stampers 1 / GH Cover Condition The cover is in VG condition. The cover is holding fine with some light, usual wear and discolouration as you can see in the photos below. The front is clean with some creasing and light wear. The top is holding fine with no splits or wear. Spine has a few little creases in it but there're no splits or tears. The bottom has some light wear and rubbing but have not split or torn. The back has browned a little and has a little rubbing near the mouth edge. '32/-' has been written at the top (its original price back in 1964) and a previous own has written their name and address near the bottom. Overflaps have a little creasing but are all stuck tight. Overall, a very decent example of this mega rare sleeve! Inner Sleeve Condition The inner sleeve is in VG- condition. The original inner sleeve is included and is holding fine, although the opening is lookinga little worn. There's some creasing as well as you can see in the phonoe, but the plastic lining inside is still stuck tightly and not come away. Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in VG+ condition. The disc has a nice shine to it and looks clean but has some light scuffing and surface marks. Nothing serious or nasty looking, though. Label Condition The labels are in VG+ condition. Both labels are clean but have a little, light wear as you can see. There's some spindlewear and a little whitening around the spindlehole.
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

My Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.price rating
