Beatles Genuine 1966 Butcher Cover Investment Grade Pro Peel

You are bidding on an exceptional genuine 1966 3rd State (peeled) example of arguably the most desired collectible rock record in existence.  This is a one of a kind, investment grade Butcher Cover that was well preserved in its shrink wrap as a 2nd state (unpeeled ) cover, removed from the shrink, professionally peeled, and then carefully slipped back in to its original shrink. We have only had a few such offerings in the last 30 + years of selling high end Butcher Covers. There are just a very few minor  issues on this very  special piece, but make no mistake about it, this is a very special piece for that special someone who is looking for a Butcher Cover that was literally peeled out of the shrink. See the description section below for specific condition descriptions.

This Butcher Cover package is a first time offering that includes the removed trunk slick. Additionally, you will receive a Certificate Of Authenticity  and an additional package of cool freebies related to the Butcher Cover that you will find nowhere else.  Please see the description section for specific condition details.

Nearly all offerings seen on the net including ones claiming to be "mint" , show up with visible damage to the Butcher image.  This is not the case here !This piece, like many of our other offerings is above and beyond what you normally see !

The photos are as follows:

1.  Butcher Cover peeled and back in shrink
2. Same but top view
3. Photo of Spine
4. Back oF Jacket back in shrink
5. 2nd state (unpeeled) jacket prior to being peeled
6. Removed Trunk Slick
7. Peeled jacket before placed being back in shrink
8. Record Side 1
9. Record Side 2
10. Freebies

Gorgeous and vibrant colors. This presents right up there with any jacket we have offered in the past with just a few minor condition issues but also still easily rates in the very top % regarding quality of any peeled Butcher Covers offered for sale .Capitol factory pasteover glue lines/residue is  light on this. Please check out the up close photo for the great detail of this peel.

Seams  and spine are intact on this. There are three or four chips to the  bottom seam (see photo). Spine has all writing legible and the       spine, seams, and border are very white for their age. Back of the jacket is mostly very white, having been preserved by the shrink but there is some age tanning to the edges and more noticeably to the two factory breath holes found at top of the back cover  (see back photo).
Still all in all, an overall gorgeous example for a more than 50 year old jacket !  The shrink-wrap on this was carefully removed and placed back on after the peel. There were a few tiny frail pieces that were lost in the process. One of these missing pieces can be seen in the very top left hand corner in the unpeeled Butcher Cover photo.

We are including the mono Scranton record and inner sleeve that came with this . LP appears to be in at least VG+ condition (not play graded) . The trunk slick is included and is the exact slick that was peeled from this jacket (see before peeling photo) and is in framable condition with a bit of wrinkling/wear and tear (see photo). Trunk slicks in one solid piece are not all that common in the peeling field.

It should be emphasized that Butcher Covers of this quality and grade are highly desired by collectors and are genuinely scarce in this condition.

This item is an original 1966 3rd State (Peeled) used example of the legendary Butcher Cover. This item is guaranteed to be authentic and not a reproduction or bootleg. Purchaser understands that this is a used item and therefore we request that that all photos be clearly examined prior to bidding. Given the fact that this item has been professionally peeled and altered from a 2nd state (unpeeled) condition to a 3rd state (peeled) example, this item has condition elements that reflect the process of treatment of the item when it was glued at the Capitol factory in 1966 as well as conditional elements from the actual peeling process. These elements generally involve mild glue lines that were made at the pressing plant when the trunk cover was pasted over but also include some minor issues from the removal process. This is not a new item but a used one that has been restored through a tedious and careful process. If you have any questions regarding condition, please feel free to contact us prior to bidding.

We have been restoring and selling genuine Beatles Butcher Covers for over three decades and our customers range from well known celebrities and galleries  to the everyday collector.  We have contributed to television/radio shows, collectible books and have displays in  many of the best record guide books including "The Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" By Perry Cox and Frank Daniels, and the Rockin' Records guides just to name a few. .  We are one of the only sellers on Ebay that can say that they are the direct source of their genuine Butcher Covers. In other words, we don't send our Butcher Covers out to others who provide peeling services but actually supervise all work that is performed on the Butcher Covers that we sell.  Our COA reflects not only the authenticity of the item but the actual chain of custody regarding the 2nd state cover and the peeling process.

We offer professional packing and you will receive all items packed in archival quality crystal clear resealable sleeves.

Thanks and Good Luck !
