Description

Beatles 3rd State (Peeled) Scranton #3 Butcher Cover
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) 1966 PA #3 Mono Butcher Cover complete with the removed trunk slick that won't break the bank that doesn't look like it is ready for the trash can, read on.
Many collectors consider this album the "holy grail" of their record collection. While these jackets may seem costly to the entry level collector, these particular jackets are hard to source in this price range that don't look horrible. They have tended to hold their value over the years. A First State cover sold recently on Ebay for over 12k ! While that is certainly out of reach for most collectors, this offering is certainly more attainable at under $900.
This Butcher Cover is an excellent value that presents nicely and is a perfect candidate for framing due to the fact that the jacket is not in tip top shape. Still this offering presents better than most offerings you see under $900. This jacket has a few obvious condition issues (see detailed description below) and may not be for the super picky buyer, but is a great entry level piece that presents well in this price range.
Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. Please read complete description prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:

Front Peeled Butcher Slick on is really nice and every bit as good as much higher priced peels we've sold in the past. Factory glue lines from the paste over process are very light on this one and any touch up (if any) would be extremely minimal. This would look awesome in a frame !
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions (photos may vary slightly in colors, shading, etc due to different lighting sources used during photography) described and feel free to contact with questions. The item shown is exact item that you will receive and is a decent entry level example of an east coast peel.

Seams:
The jacket was previously taped around the edges with masking tape. Top seam appears mostly complete and unspilt. Bottom Seam appears to be 1/2 complete and then half split. The split side was properly mitigated with hinging material to prevent further spreading. To protect the integrity of what remains of these seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be forced or stored inside this jacket (See close up photos of seams).
Spine:
Spine was mostly wiped out by the previous owner but the tape was removed and the spine was reinforced with hinging material. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket displays average wear and noticeable marks around the perimeter of the jacket where masking tape was removed. (see photo of back)
Trunk Slick:
Removed Trunk Slick is included as shown in photos.
Record
Comes with East Coast mono pressing in Poor to Fair visual condition (many scratches and scuffs, was not properly cared for). Olive Capitol inner sleeve with this one.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $34.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $34.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. What you see is what you get. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling/restoration process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please not that T- Shirt seen in background is NOT INCLUDED in this auction and is for display purposes only.
Thank You !
