Genuine and Authentic Entry Level 1966 Scanton PA Peeled Mono Butcher Cover Package complete with the Removed Trunk Slick, and Record. Very reasonable opening price for a peel of this quality. Many of our genuine Butcher Covers are purchased by dealers and then resold at higher prices. While the Butcher Cover has been described in collecting circles as "the most common rare record", let's face it, 80 to 90% have been destroyed by horrible to mediocre peels. Not the case here. This is an awesome piece of Rock and roll History !

A mono top quality peel sold recently for over $7000 in a catalog auction ! While admittedly not in quite the condition of that specimen, this is available to you as a "Starter" pro peel for a fraction of that cost. If you're not that super picky about the condition of the jacket, then this might be for you at a great savings. 
Butcher Covers in particular have steadily risen in value over the last few years and are fetching crazy numbers in high profile catalog auctions. Unfortunately, too many covers continue to be severely damaged by amateur peels and it pays to invest wisely and carefully consider the quality of the peel when investing in a 3rd state (peeled) cover. Don't just take our word for it, look around. While there are a few condition issues with the seams spine and back of the jacket, this is still an excellent peel that would look as great (as a Peel costing twice the price or more) if properly framed in a conservation frame. Condition: 
Butcher Cover is awesome and something that any fan would treasure. Compare this to what is offered on the web in a similar price range and we're sure you'll agree that this is in the top 5% as far as peels are concerned. There are two tiny department store price tag holes that go through the Capitol logo on front and through to the back of the jacket. Glue residue/Capitol factory brush lines from application of that adhesive (at the original Capitol pressing plant) used to adhere the trunk cover are mild on this one but please take your time and look at the photos before making your mind up. Some tanning/staining/abrasion on the borders. Please see photos and text below for further more specific details about the actual physical condition of the jacket .
Seams: 
Top seam is mostly complete with the last four inches clear taped on top because of light cracks. Bottom seam appears also mostly intact with a slight crack to the seam near the very last few inches. These slight cracks appear to be neatly adhered. Please see photos. Given the age/repair/frailty of the seams, a vinyl record/inner sleeve should never be attempted to be placed in the album jacket ! The record in these valuable old albums should always be stored separately. Even with a jacket with the best seams, there is a danger of this old paper cracking. (See seam Photos)
Spine:
Spine is mostly taped by previous owner because of cracking throughout with some print still readable.  (See Spine Photo). As a result, A record should never be attempted to be placed in this jacket to avoid further damage.
Back Of Jacket: 
The back of the jacket has some issues with tape stains, paint and some general wear. (See Back of Jacket photo) This condition makes this a wonderful candidate for framing !
Trunk Slick: 
Sorry, but there is no trunk slick included in this auction. 
Record/Inner Sleeve: 
A mono record is included which exhibits some minor sleeve scuffs and scratches and a name written on the label.1965 Olive Capitol Records Inner Sleeve is also included with tear and tape repair as shown. The olive colored sleeves (besides the usual Goldenrod sleeves0 were also sometimes inserted in original pressings of Yesterday and Today by Capitol.

Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. Capitol Factory glue lines and glue residue is a fact of life, and some will remain to preserve the printing integrity of the original Butcher Slick. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
