BEATLES FOR SALE
PMC 1240
1964 EARLY 1ST PRESSING WITH 1G / 1R MOTHER AND STAMPER CODES AND 1N/ 1N MATRICES
The sleeve is a 1st issue with a pinched spine. It is in a strong Excellent to Excellent Plus condition with no detractions to mention other than very very minor corner wear. It is fabulously glossy still and completely clean and fully intact with no discolouration, indentations, repairs, writing, scuffs or anything like that. Straight unblemished edges and extremely flat and neat. Have never come across one of these in as good condition as this.
The inner sleeve is the correct one - a tracing paper liner and 'Made In England' text with Emitex advertising info. It is in Very Good Plus condition with minor discoloration/ wear.
The vinyl itself is actually quite respectable and plays well. I grade it as a strong Good. No needle drops, scratches, warping, scuffs or groove wear, and nothing at all feel-able. It retains a mirror-like jet black glossy pressing sheen and lies perfectly flat on the turntable. It is a heavy one just like they were at the outset. Although there are many hairlines over the surfaces they are very feint and there is nothing worrisome and still projects a shine.
The labels I grade as Good as the colour has been retained and the black paper is still quite glossy. There are no marks or writing. There is a minor amount of spindle traces and significant spindle wear but only to the paper perimeter.
Mother's and Stampers are 1 G/ 1R, and the matrices are 1N/ 1N. This makes this one of the first ever produced, and another one as early as this will probably never come up for sale again on eBay.
The audio is pretty much faultless in terms of audible detractions. That is, there is nothing overpowering the music such as pops, skips, jumps or sticks. Throughout the whole record I only heard around 3 or 4 minor clicks but these were during fade-out's; there was the occasional lower level tic too but again only really audible in a few of the quieter passages. Despite the played condition of the record, the audio is clear and lucid throughout with minor background crackle. The vocal are bright and punchy and it is a great listen. The mono bass is deep, the instrumentals well channelled and the vocals are bright and punchy. It is not perfect, but it is not poor either. Would grade as Very Good audio and I believe would not disappoint.

I use the record collector grading guide.
The record will be extremely well protected using a professional LP mailer with a stiffener, and I add extra outer padding for overseas orders.
The vinyl will be removed from the original inner sleeve, placed in a new generic one and placed next to the main sleeve and will all be housed in a best on the market thumb-weld glass sleeve.
