THE BEATLES - "BEATLES FOR SALE" - VINYL LP
EMI PARLOPHONE - PCS 3062 - 1964 - UK 1st Pressing - STEREO
Their classic 1964 LP in its rare 1st UK stereo pressing with the record in fantastic condition and containing the side 1 matrix error and very early 1G mothers/stampers.
1st pressing indicated by the yellow/black Parlophone label containing both the 'Recording First Published 1964' and 'Sold In UK...' label text and with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' starting the rim text.
Side One matrix: YEX 142-1 (the '2' has been corrected by hand-etching)
Side Two matrix: YEX 143-1
Mothers/stampers: 1 GM / 4 GR (very early!)

CONDITION (vinyl/cover)
EX (superb copy showing just small signs of play and still retaining a lovely shine; bright clean labels with just a few light spindlemarks indicating moderate play; vinyl shows just one or two cosmetic light surface marks and some very fine sleeve removal scuffs, there's absolutely no scratches or marks that affect play; record sits flat on the turntable and plays through with wonderful near perfect audio with no clicks, ticks, pops or crackle...even the run-ins and between tracks are quiet! A fantastic copy of this Beatles rarity!)
/ VG+ (the laminated flipback gatefold wallet sleeve is so easily damaged but this one has been well looked-after. The front laminate is bright, glossy and flat with just a few minor creases at edges, unfortunately there is also a long light crease along the right corner across Paul's head, but its only obvious if sleeve is angled and does not affect the inside (see photos). The edges are nice and sharp with minimal wear; the spine is solid with no laminate loss or splitting and just a bit of light wear to top and bottom corners; inside is superb with lovely clean bright surfaces and nice tight flipbacks and remarkably no splitting at the spine, which is so often found on this sleeve; there's no ringwear, no stains, no writing; all in all a very nice clean and solid example that without the long crease on the front would be EX!)
comes with the original rice-paper lined Emitex inner sleeve in EX condition with no splits, tears or writing.
