EX+ VISUAL & AUDIO

This is an absolute stunning example of possibly the rarest 1st pressing of Please Please Me that was ever pressed. The vinyl surfaces are simply stunning with only a couple of very light hairlines and the rare rigded labels are in the same stunning condition.

This is the same label layout as the normal 1st press except it was pressed on one of EMI's older machines which would have been pulled out & made ready to cope with the public demand. As can be seen (& felt), there is a definite ring / ridge which is consistant all the way round & on both sides, and is very much like the DECCA ridge.

It is very very rare to see this particular pressing with a deep groove to both sides. This differs from the  3/4 ring you sometimes see on normally 2nd pressings and on side 1 only, usually with a 1H stamper on side one.

Stampers for this particular pressing are 1H / 1H , though I think that was the original default setting of this machine it was pressed on.

Some say, these older pressing machines ended up in India's EMI pressing plant..

Condition~

Side 1~ EX+ The vinyl surface shines like new and has only a few of the lightest of marks which are only visable when tilted under light, it plays to perfection.

Label 1 ~ EX, Superb clear black and gold lettering with only the very lightest signs of previous use around the spindle hole. Has the ZT tax code. Has the DECCA like ridge all the way around the label unique to this pressing.

Side 2~ EX+, Much the same as side 1, it has a couple of light whispy marks when tilted, has been played very little, the sound it simply superb!

Label 2 ~ EX+ Again absolutley FANTASTIC  with no marks apart from a couple of light spider marks. As with side 1 it has the DECCA like ridge all the way around the label. Stunning!

Emitex sleeve~ EX, Has done it's job and protected the vinyl, it is original and has no rips or tears.

Sleeve~ VG+, Would be graded excellent but for a tape repair along the bottom flipback apart from this it is a nice sleeve in overall great condition, the spine is nice and it is nice and clean throughout which shows that it has been well looked after, it is original with the Angus Mcbean credit in the far right bottom corner.
