THE BEATLES Please Please Me UK 1ST PRESS MONO BLACK & GOLD -1N/-1N

Rare UK first pressing on black & gold Parlophone labels with early -1N/-1N matrices

Description:

An original UK first pressing of Please Please Me, released in 1963 on the Parlophone label, catalogue number PMC 1202.

This is the highly sought-after early issue featuring the black & gold Parlophone labels with “Dick James Mus. Co.” credits and “Made in Gt. Britain” text.

The matrices read XEX 421-1N / XEX 422-1N, confirming a true first pressing. Both sides also show early mother/stamper markings consistent with initial production runs.

The sleeve is the correct early Ernest J. Day printed example with large mono indicator on the front and Emitex advertising inner sleeve included.

A genuine and desirable early UK Beatles pressing.

Matrix / Runout: XEX 421-1N / XEX 422-1N
Label: Parlophone – Black & Gold
Catalogue Number: PMC 1202

Stampers: 1L; 1L

Pressing: UK – First Press (1963)

Condition:

The record is in VERY GOOD condition. The vinyl has a solid sheen and shows visible surface marks. These are largely superficial with no serious feelable scratches, but clearly a played example. Playback remains strong overall with some background noise in quieter passages and lead-ins, delivering a highly enjoyable listening experience with the all the energy present of what has become THE definitive rock debuts in popular music history. Clearly there are no skips or sticks with this grade. VERY GOOD!

The sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition. There is age-related wear including edge wear, corner wear and laminate creasing to the front. The rear shows handling wear and ageing. The structure remains intact with no major splits. VERY GOOD!

The original Emitex inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition.
