Description
On offer here is a VERY RARE Black & Gold MONO UK 1963 1st Pressing called 'Please Please Me' on the 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label!!!! It is also the most sought after Black & Gold 1st Pressing with the 'Dick James' credits to BOTH labels!!!! THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE!!!! BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND AND INCREDIBLY SOUGHT AFTER!!!! THIS LP ALSO HAS AN INCREDIBLY RARE VARIATION TO IT - WITH A MEGA RARE GROOVED SIDE 2 LABEL (SEE PICTURE)!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS A VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING INDEED WITH EXTREMELY EARLY THE MOTHER AND STAMPER CODES (SEE BELOW)!!!! THE MATRIXES ARE ALSO 1ST PRESS MATRIXES ENDING IN 1N/1N!!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE UK 1963 BLACK & GOLD MONO 1ST PRESSING (WITH 'DICK JAMES' CREDITS) AND IS EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND!!!! SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MASSIVELY RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL MONO UK 1st pressing from 1963 and is EXTREMELY rare indeed!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK Black & Gold 1st pressing on the 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label (with the 1st Press 'Dick James' Credits), 'The Parlophone Company' edge text, NO 'Sold In The UK' text, NO 'First Published' text, LARGE Mono on the cover front, E.J.Day Flipback Laminated Cover, and 1st Press Polythene lined Emitex inner!!!! The Angus McBean credit is also in in the EXTREME far right corner on the bottom right on the cover front. Some people believe this is the EARLIEST style of cover - though personally I believe this has absolutely NO relevance to age and in my opinion BOTH types were in use on these Black & Gold pressings. The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N. The stamper codes are 2/GO & 1/H. The Cat. No is PMC 1202 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels are in GREAT condition overall (see pictures) with VERY sharp Gold Print, VERY nice dark black background, some slight wear around the centre hole, and only a few light spindle marks!!!! The labels also have a MEGA faint name on the BLACK part of the labels ONLY (colour is UNAFFECTED) - though this is as faint as it gets and can ONLY be seen when angled under EXTREME light!!!! The vinyl isnt in perfect condition - but it certainly plays well with NO jumps and is still a VERY presentable 1st Pressing and VERY shiny looking!!!! The vinyl has a few hairlines, a few light scufflines, 3 or 4 light surface marks, and some VERY light paper scuffing only visible under light!!!! It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with only a few clicks/pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and only some VERY slight crackle on the run on grooves, occassional gap (though some have NONE), though there is barely ANY in the actual music itself!!!! There is also some VERY low level background sound on the gaps, and run on grooves - but again NOT in the music!!!! The record must grade Good(Minus) if not Good (PROPERLY graded, NOT 'wrecked')!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press POLYTHENE lined Emitex inner sleeve which is in STUNNING condition!!!! The 1st Press E.J.Day FLIPBACK Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking) and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO writing, barely ANY grubbyness AT ALL, only 1 MEGA faint brown age spot, only VERY slight yellowing, and some slight creasing/folding to the EXTREME bottom right flipback (see picture)!!!! The cover must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE VERY EARLY 'GROOVED' 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LEGENDARY LP AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! THIS IS ALSO A GREAT CHANCE FOR SOMEONE TO OWN THIS INCREDIBLY RARE LP AT A CHEAPER PRICE THAN THE HUGE PRICE REQUIRED FOR A MINT COPY!!!! IT IS STILL VERY PRESENTABLE, HAS GREAT LABELS, AND PLAYS WELL - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
TAKE A LOOK AT PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!!
