Description

Here is a very rare BEATLES LP, Please Please Me on the increasingly difficult to find, PMC 1202 BLACK & GOLD label. With an E.J.DAY FLIPBACK LAMINATED COVER!!

This album ws released on the 22nd of March 1963. Re-released many times after...BUT HERE IS ONE OF THE FIRST!!

This album up for auction has the early "Dick James" credits on BOTH labels!!!!. This means it is a 1st PRESS!!! Along with the very early stampers of: 1/L and 1/GG... VERY EARLY STAMPERS!!!

Matrix numbers are the early: XEX421-1N and XEX 422-1N, stamped into the thick vinyl.

The Labels are in VG++ condition, with very little spindle wear...very unusual for this and any other original BEATLES LP's. Only looks to have been played a handful of times. There's no "Sold in the U.K." text and the outer rim starts with "The Parlophone Company..." text.

The cover is in G condition as there is a fair bit of wear on the back. The spine is VG+ with clearly legible "Please Please Me-The Beatles." Some numpty has gone and written on the back cover with their name (and date of 1964!) plus next to each song they credited who was singing, please see photos. The front, however is in VG condition and has the "Angus Mcbean" credit in the very lower right corner and a LARGE MONO in the top right corner. The sleeve is early 60's and has an unusual printer series of stars on it, mirroring the label of the record...don't know if it means anything: "British Patent No. 800512 Foriegn Patents Pending."

The vinyl itself has very little wear, I can see only two hairline marks...one on side one and one on side two. However there is a small amount of warping. I seriously doubt this will affect play, but I do not have a record player at the moment. If you are curious as to my grading, please see my feedback from records previously sold.

All in all, it is a good example of the RARE & ORIGINAL LP that sent the world into BEATLEMANIA!!

Very low start, so grab a bargain...It would grace any BEATLE FAN's wall, or pop it on the turntable, sit back and listen to the sound of history!
