Description
On offer here is a VERY RARE Black & Gold MONO UK 1963 1st Pressing called 'Please Please Me' on the 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label!!!! It is also the most sought after Black & Gold 1st Pressing with the 'Dick James' credits to BOTH labels!!!! THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT!!!! BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND AND INCREDIBLY SOUGHT AFTER!!!! BUT THIS ONE IS WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE RAREST BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSING I HAVE EVER LISTED!!!! IT HAS FULLY 'GROOVED' LABELS TO BOTH SIDES OF THE RECORD!!!! AND THIS IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND ONLY A TINY HANDFUL OF BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSINGS WERE EVER PRESSED LIKE THIS!!!! OCCASSIONALLY A BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESSING MAY TURN UP WITH ONE LABEL PARTLY 'GROOVED' - BUT TO FIND BOTH LABELS FULLY GROOVED IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT BOTH LABELS ARE IN STUNNING CONDITION!!!! JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS A VERY VERY EARLY 1ST PRESSING INDEED WITH THE MOTHER AND STAMPERS BEING 1/H & 1/H (VERY EARLY MOTHER & STAMPER CODES INDEED - AND BOTH FROM THE FIRST MOTHER)!!!! THE MATRIXES ARE ALSO 1ST PRESS MATRIXES ENDING IN 1N/1N!!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE UK 1963 BLACK & GOLD MONO 1ST PRESSING (WITH 'DICK JAMES' CREDITS & ULTRA RARE 'FULLY GROOVED' LABELS) AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS SERIOUSLY RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL MONO UK 1st pressing from 1963 and is EXTREMELY rare indeed!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK Black & Gold 1st pressing on the ULTRA RARE 1st Press 'Grooved' Black & Gold Parlophone label (with the 1st Press 'Dick James' Credits), 'The Parlophone Company' edge text, NO 'Sold In The UK' text, NO 'First Published' text, LARGE Mono on the cover front, E.J.Day Flipback Laminated Cover, and 1st Press Polythene lined Emitex inner!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N. The stamper codes are 1/H & 1/H (SERIOUSLY early mother & stamper codes)!!!! Please also note that the Angus McBean is in the standard position in the bottom right of the cover. This credit does vary from cover to cover - and there does seem to be some debate over exactly what it indicates. However the UK main record guide states NOTHING regarding this credit - and I am of the opinion that it is simply a factory difference and certainly nothing to do with age!!!! Afterall - EVERY cover was indivudually printed - and various other things on these early covers differ massively (especially for example the position of the large MONO at the top of the cover!). This particular LP came from a small house collection from its 1 former owner (who bought the LP from NEW) and it is VERY obvious that this cover is DEFINITELY the cover this LP left the record shop with back in 1963!!!! The Cat. No is PMC 1202 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Black & Gold Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The ULTRA RARE 'Fully Grooved' Black & Gold record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO writing, VERY sharp UNFADED Gold Print, NO wear, and the labels are still VERY black looking indeed!!!! SUPERB labels and VERY hard to find like this!!!! The vinyl isnt in perfect condition - but it certainly plays well with NO jumps and is still a presentable copy - especially with the SUPERB looking labels!!!! It is also important to note that the vinyl is VERY black and VERY shiny looking - and NOT 'grey' and 'lifeless' like so many Beatles LPs that turn up!!!! The vinyl has a few hairline type marks, a few light hairlines, a few light scufflines, and only a few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! THE VINYL IS STILL VERY SHINY LOOKING INDEED AND STILL RETAINS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with a few clicks/pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, NO hiss, and only some slight crackle on the run on grooves, occassional gap (some are SILENT), and barely ANY in the actual music!!!! The record must grade Good!!!! The record is also VERY slightly uneven - but this certainly does NOT affect play in the slightest!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press POLYTHENE lined Emitex inner sleeve!!!! The E.J.Day FLIPBACK Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking), VERY shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, and barely ANY yellowing!!!! The cover must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!! THIS IS IS WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE RAREST POSSIBLE BLACK & GOLD 1ST PRESS VARIATION EVER!!!! FINDING THIS LP WITH ULTRA RARE 'FULLY GROOVED' LABELS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE - AND IT WILL SURELY BE A VERY VERY LONG TIME (IF EVER) BEFORE YOU SEE ANOTHER!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP HAS A BRILLIANT COVER, AND STUNNING LABELS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!
TAKE A LOOK AT PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!!
