Description
Up for auction is a copy of Please Please Me, the debut LP by The Beatles, released in 1963 on Parlophone cat no PMC 1202. This is an early pressing from 1963. Labels are black/yellow with no “recording first published” or “sold in UK” text. Master numbers are -1 for each side. Mother/stamper codes are 2/MP & 1/MD. Cover is an EJ Day cover; there’s a red sticker on the top right of the rear with “E” printed on it. I understand this is an official EMI sticker used for quality control or cataloguing, but am not 100% sure.
Condition: some marks to both sides, but this is an amazingly resilient album, and everything plays through without any jumps/sticks & with surprisingly low levels of clicks & pops. Labels are generally OK, though I think there’s a little “tipping in” around the centre hole. Some wear to cover, but no serious damage. G+/VG- (vinyl/cover).
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence! Any questions? Need any more photos or an audio sample? I'm only an email away.
Payment: UK- bank transfer (preferred) or Paypal. Rest Of World- Paypal. Email for other accepted methods of payment. Shipping: £4.50 (UK 1st class), £5.50 (UK recorded), £7.50 (Europe) £10 (rest of world-airmail). Check my other auctions; combine orders & save on shipping costs!
