BEATLES UK, Rubber Soul, 4/1 matrix, semi ‘Loud cut’ mix.

PMC 1267 mono - original 1965 yellow and black Parlophone record labels.

A UK first issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. an unusual record matrix of 4 / 1, with the original ‘Loud cut’ mix on side two of the record. Little is known about these semi ‘Loud cut’ records. The original 1 / 1 matrix records were withdrawn as the Beatles record producer was not satisfied with the overall sound. The 1/1 matrix records were immediately replaced by the more familiar 4/4 matrix records. So why EMI and Parlophone went to all the trouble to issue these 4 / 1 matrix records is a mystery !,

2. a record from this period, would usually had the letters ‘KT’ embossed onto one of the record labels, but unusually this record does NOT have this !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period ‘tri flipback’ design. There are NO splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a small tear, 5mm to the rear (only) middle opening edge and some age related marks  on the rear of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. A well preserved clean and relatively crease free sleeve for its age. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a slight split to one of the side edges.

THE VINYL: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in near excellent condition. The vinyl is made from the original thick, heavy vinyl.  It has remained clean, dark and glossy

The matrix nos. are - XEX  579 -  4 and  XEX   580 – 1, an unusual ‘Loud cut’, very first issue mix,

The mother / stampers are:  ‘ 3  G G P ’  and  ‘ 3   T O ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent and play with relatively little in the way of crackle. Side two also plays excellent, although I did hear some light ‘ticks’ to the last minute of play on track three and into the first minute of play on track four. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition. Unusually there are NO letters embossed around the spindle holes. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
