Description
BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, rare ridged label, original mono.
PMC 1267 original mono.
Original 1965 yellow and black Parlophone labels.
A UK first issue album in original condition, featuring:
1. side one, the record label has an unusual ‘ridge’ to it, it is now believed that these rare ridged labels were a result of EMI re employing old pressing machines,
2. side two on the label there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, this inconsistency helps to tie in with the ridged label,
3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. This laminate is relatively ‘scuff’ free and has just one small thumb nail crease to the front. The spine is in excellent++ condition and has remained an excellent fresh white, all of the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipbacks design. The rear of the sleeve has remained an excellent fresh white in colour. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are two ‘scuff’ marks to the bottom edge of the sleeve and some light age related marks to the rear of the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. It has remained very clean for its age, an excellent well preserved sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in excellent+ condition. The record is made from the original thick, heavy vinyl. The vinyl is dark and very glossy.
The matrix nos. are: XEX 579 4 and XEX 580 4,
The mother / stampers are: ‘ 11 R G A ’ and ‘ 7 R D D ’.
THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent++, it plays with relatively quiet grooves with just some light dusty static. Side two plays excellent+, I did hear some light ticks at the beginning of track two for approximately 30 seconds, otherwise like side one, it plays with relatively quiet grooves with just some light dusty static. The record plays with an excellent full, clear, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in near excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
