BEATLES UK, Strawberry Fields Forever and Let it be, first UK issues 45 singles.

Strawberry Fields Forever – original 1967 UK first issue with its original 1967 picture sleeve.

R5570 – 45 rpm, Strawberry fields forever /Penny Lane, unusual solid centres, original mono from 1967, featuring:

1. an original 1967 UK picture sleeve, with its original ‘wavy top’ opening edges. These sleeves were printed in a limited number and are now hard to find,

2. the record labels have more unusual ‘solid centres’,

3. early mother/stampers on side two, of: ‘1 GM’,

4. UK first issue record labels with the text:

a. ‘Sold in UK’ etc,

b. ‘The Gramophone’ etc, text around the edge of the label.

CONDITION:

THE SLEEVE: is in near very good condition and is an original ‘wavy top’ 1967 UK picture sleeve. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. Each side has some age related marks and some discolouring. On the rear there is a slight ‘tea cup’ ring !.

THE RECORD: is in very good condition.

The matrix are:

Side one: 7XCE 18415 – 1,

Side two: 7XCE 18416 – 2,

The mother/stampers are:

Side one is: ‘3 G L’, the letters ‘KT’ are also engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,

Side two is: ‘1 G M, very early, the letters ‘KT’ are also engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove.

THE AUDIO: is very good++, it plays with some light crackle and some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there.

THE LABELS: are in near excellent condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

R5833 – 45 rpm, original 1970 UK Apple, Let it Be/You know my name, solid centres, stereo/mono !, featuring:

1. side one plays in stereo, but side two plays in mono !. The records matrix on side two has been crossed out, see photo, it is unclear what this may have been !. A new matrix has been engraved, being: ‘7YCE 21408’, but this is technically incorrect, as this indicates that side two is in stereo !, which its not, the matrix on side two should read: ‘7XCE’ etc !, ie mono,

2. UK first issue matrix of: ‘1U/1U’,

3. as this is a UK first issue, side one of the record label features a ‘dark green’ Apple colour.

CONDITION:

THE SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is an original 1970 UK first issue picture sleeve made from quality thick grade paper. Theres NO pen writing, splits, stains, stickers, sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a 5mm tear to the front, middle opening edge.

THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition. Side two is in very good+ condition. It has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are:

Side one: 7YCE 21407 - 1U,

Side two: 7YCE 21408 - 1U,

The mother/stampers are:

Side one is: ‘3 H L’ and the letters ‘KT’ are also engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,

Side two is: ‘3 P O’ and the letters ‘KT’ are also engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove.

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent. Side two plays very good++, side two plays with some ‘pops’ and some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition. There is a set of initials written in blue pen on side one. Side two is in excellent++ condition. The labels are free from any ‘other’ pen writing and free from any stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
