The Beatles :- Please Please Me

Original 1963 UK Parlophone PMC 1202 Mono LP with EJ Day Flipback Sleeve

Complete with Original polylined Emitex Liner Sleeve

Side One has Small 33rpm print , and Omits 'Recording First Published' print - Side Two Omits Both 33rpm and 'Recording First Published' print !!! The facts of the change over of the Parlophone labels is listed below :-

Here is the Correct  First Issue Yellow/Black label variation of the Please Please Me LP..... After the initial runs of the Gold/Black label of the Please Please Me LP in early 1963 , Parlophone decided on a 'new look' label design - i.e. Yellow and Black........The initial runs of the 'new look' label design used the same type set as the Gold/Black for the lower half of the labels, which omitted the 'Recording First Published 1963' print - to the left of the label ,  but still included the small 33 1/3rd print to the right of the of the matrix number (see photos)............. This anomaly was noticed , and the small 33 1/3rd print removed from the type set ( the 33 1/3rd was already in large print - above the Parlophone logo - see photo ) ..........and subsequent labels (omitting both 'Recording First Published 1963' and omitting the small 33 1/3rd were produced ........

Matrixes  XEX 421 - 1N  /  XEX 422 - 1N

Mother  '1'  /  '1 over 2'

Stampers 'RA'  /  'GL'

The disc has mild use .... a few light surface marks only (nothing heavy at all) .... clean labels , a bit of rub around the spindle hole on side two  .... the disc plays through really well - great sound quality : Graded at  VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT  condition.

The Sleeve has mild  use  .... bright , crisp  and clean .... nice bright laminate , only a couple of minor wrinkles ....great edges and spine .... three of the corners have light dink .... the rear panel has mild ageing , quite clean , the bottom flip has some wrinkling :  Graded at VERY GOOD to  Near EXCELLENT   condition.

A very nice nice clean Original Emitex Liner

I usually start auctions at a low price to generate interest in bidding

All items are graded Audio / Visually , and played on a high grade system

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I understand the requirements in the gradings of discs and sleeves , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised

I grade items ( using the UK Record Collector Grading System) beneath a light , to be sure of condition

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as STUNNING !! RARE !! AWESOME !! , padded out with grossly long winded 'descriptions' ..... Many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and does not correspond with the actual facts , and would be laughable but for the fact it is totally misleading. I take time and care to graded items correctly , and only list quality records , with concise , accurate grading descriptions

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest !) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists 'live' ( I saw The Beatles twice and Segovia !)

I began selling professionally in 1976 , and have a wide knowledge of the items I sell (and always learning !) having bought copies of my own at time of issue , always being interested in the sleeve , label and disc variations. If you have any queries , I will do my best to answer correctly

Please check my feedback ratings , you will see that a large amount are from repeat buyers ( many thanks !) .... and in the event of genuine complaints will remedy the situation as soon as possible

All items carefully packaged using proper cardboard packaging (I do not use low quality preformed mailers)

The discs are placed seperately from the sleeves within the package to avoid splitting or damage . Items are sent promptly - usually within one working day of payment .
