Black Cat #13 was a band from Ontario, Canada. Their style of music was a blend of electro, hardcore, and rock music. They were active from 1998 to 2000, and performed a total of 47 shows. The band is mostly remembered for having as a member Jesse F. Keeler, a member of the successful dance rock group Death from Above 1979, and later the electro/house musician MSTRKRFT (coupled with Al-P).

The band had a long break between posts from June 1, 2000 to October 25, 2000 on their website (blackcat13.cjb.net). In the post for the latter date, the band says "TO ALL THE KIDS ASKING IF WE HAVE BROKEN UP, HMM.... XOX BC#13". The next post stated that they had actually broken up, but that they would still be finishing a split with The Vivian Girls. The post also stated that band members Jesse and Robin had been finishing up the first EP from their new project, Femme Fatale.

After two years without updates from the site, in February 2002, the site was updated with links to the websites of all the former band member's new projects. These projects were Femme Fatale, and The Sick Lipstick, started by Lindsay Gillard and Mark McLean (singer and keyboardist, respectively). The site has not been updated since.

Upon disbanding of The Sick Lipstick, Lindsay went on to join "Fox the Boombox," while Mark joined "Nervous Sleepers"

We are collectors and we want you to get your collectibles in the best condition possible, therefore, unlike many sellers on the great eBay
WE NEVER REMOVE VINYL FROM ITS SLEEVE AND LEAN IT AGAINST ANYTHING
nor do we
REMOVE THE VINYL RECORDS FROM THEIR SLEEVES & LAY THEM DOWN ON A SURFACE TO DISPLAY THEM.

We're rather amazed when we take the care that we do with the vinyl we sell, and then see another seller make more money selling the exact same item
in worse shape, and their picture shows the record out of its cover and out of its sleeve lying on a surface!  I believe the "problem" is that we try to describe every item
in detail so that you'll know exactly what you're getting.  Many sellers will simply say "excellent" "mint" or "great", having no idea what those terms mean in relation to the Goldmine Grading System.  We tell you exactly what you're getting, and even if it's been to hell and back, we still treat it like it's a piece of your mother.  Sometimes it's the detail that screws things up, I think.  If we were vague, like most sellers, you'd just see the name of the band, the title, and a picture, and you'd buy it.  Oh well.

Many sellers seem to have a disregard for the items they're selling and only care about making their pictures look pretty.  We only care about the pieces we sell.  And you.  So you'll see that the records are displayed IN THEIR ORIGINAL SLEEVES, with just a hint of the vinyl showing so that you can see what color they are.  If you want to see the vinyl pulled from its sleeve and resting on a dusty surface, look at someone else's auction or blog and then come back to our page and buy our copy in PERFECT SHAPE.

We will ship this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

ORDERS OVERSEAS, ESPECIALLY TO EUROPE (AND ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY GERMANY) ARE SOMETIMES TAKING A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME.  SOME VINYL IS TAKING UP TO A MONTH TO ARRIVE.  IF YOU CAN TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT AS A POSSIBILITY, GO AHEAD AND BID. Other countries currently taking a long time to deliver the mail include Spain, The Ukraine and anything related to the Russian Federation and anyone who falls into the shadow of what has been referred to as Russia, the former U.S.S.R. etc. Just please, if you get all the way down here to the bottom and pay attention to the small print, take into account that is is NOT our fault that packages are taking up to and sometimes over a month to get to certain addresses in the Russian Federation, Italy, Germany, and especially Eastern European locations. We have considered many times NOT SELLING to your part of the world, but it seems to be so starved for new music, and we want to be able to share in the wealth of music that we have here, so we're trying to keep our relationship a happy one. Consider this when you haven't received your records within 3 weeks and you are writing us a nasty letter or considering an "unsent merchandise strike" or whatever they are called. Simply contact us, and we will tell you when your package was mailed, will do our best to track it for you and/or send you a replacement copy of what you won and paid for. If all of this fails, we will GLADLY refund your money. We absolutely have no history of ripping anyone off, and are doing our best to keep the flow of music working from the Eastern seaboard of the United States to the more tightly-reined countries in your part of the world! We WANT YOU to hear rare music!! Thank you, my friend! Johnny, at Reptilian.
