Description
Available here is an original Bo Street Runners 7" four track EP. The band’s debut release, it was issued by Oak Records (recorded by R. G. Jones of Morden) in 1964, with the catalogue number RGJ 131. Pictures of the disc and sleeve can be found at the bottom of the page, while even larger scans of the disc can be sent on request.
Something of a holy grail for collectors of music from this period, the history of this release can be found on the Internet but it is extremely rare. Only 99 copies of the record are believed to have been manufactured and it was sold at early gigs. The EP was produced with a plain white sleeve but the group members themselves glued a photographic front and plain back onto the original white paper sleeve.
Vinyl Condition - Very Good. - Quite bright, the record has three light surface marks but no deep or worrying scratches. Having listened to all of the songs, there is no obvious deterioration to the general sound quality. I can confirm that there is no jumping or sticking, very little background crackle, although the odd click can occasionally be heard.
Sleeve Condition - Good - The front and back panels have detached from the inner sleeve. This seems to be common to all copies that I’ve previously seen sold, due to the fact that with the passing of the years the glued used has dried up. This means that the inner white sleeve has glue marks, as do the back of the covers. I suppose that the covers could be easily reattached if you should wish. The front photographic panel also has edge/corner creasing and wear, two very small side splits, with minor loss to the surface image across the bottom right corner. The plain but signed back panel, also bears light creases and a few marks/stains. A newer outer plastic sleeve is present to hold the whole affair neatly together.

Signature - As if this item wasn’t rare enough on its own, the back cover also bears a broad black felt-tip signature and an affectionate inscription - "John Dominic loves you all". Dominic was the lead singer at this time and I have no reason to doubt its authenticity. A couple of months ago a signed Bo Street Runners concert ticket was auctioned on eBay and this was autographed across the reverse by all of the band members, with John Dominic’s signature prominent once again in black marker. I made a copy, which is reproduced at the bottom purely for comparative purposes.
I am aware that this is an extremely rare and collectible item and the price that it is likely to reach. With this in mind, I’ll happily cover the postage and packing charges and also mail by some sort of insured/recorded/signed for route.
