BOBBY JACKSON - The Cafe Extra-Ordinaire Story - Ninth Note NNR-007
Original red label jazz LP recorded in Minneapolis in 1970 but held back for release until 1977 when the Cafe had closed. Superb LP featuring the house musicians of Bobby Jackson's Cafe Extra-Ordinaire, each offering a song of their own for this LP. Small groups comprising of quintet/sextet out of Paul Akre (p), Tony Moreno (d), Hubert Eaves (p), Morris Wilson (ts), Bobby Lyle (p), Beau Bailey (tb), Gene Hubbard (d), Paul Cotton (d), Sam Biven (tpt) and Bobby Jackson (b). Wonderful modal, spiritual and progressive jazz throughout.
Rare and highly-regarded private press jazz LP. Seldom seen outside of Minneapolis!
The sleeve is NM. The vinyl is NM. Scarce LP in superb condition.
Our grading policy is S/S, NM, VG++, VG+, VG. Conservative grading. No records lesser than VG will be listed. We reserve the use of Mint only for brand new records, seeing as we only list vintage items we tend not to use that grade. Bid with confidence - see my 100% +ve feedback!
