Description

This is a nice promo copy of a single by The Date With Soul: "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" b/w "Jack's Theme" (Reprise 0299).

The A side was first issued in the U.S. as "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" b/w "900 Quetzels" by Hale and the Hushabyes on the Apogee label. It was reissued weeks later, with the same group name, as "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" b/w "Jack's Theme" (the item up for auction here). Then, when reissued on the York label, the artist names was changed to The Date With Soul, with "Bee Side Soul" on the flip (York 408).

Hale & the Hushabyes/The Date With Soul is actually the combined efforts of Phil Spector protegee Jack Nitzsche (who produced and arranged), Sonny & Cher, Jackie De Shannon, Brian Wilson (who offers his unmistakable falsetto on "Yes Sir That's My Baby"), and Sandy Wynns (who provides lead vocals, though it is also argued that Edna Wright, sister of Darlene Wright, aka Darlene Love, of the Blossoms, is lead vocalist).

This record is in strong VG condition. Clean labels, but some slight wear. No writing, stickers, or tears. Vinyl has high gloss but several light scuffs.
