Description

 Here is a beautiful promo copy of a single by The Date With Soul: YES SIR, THAT'S MY BABY b/w JACK'S THEME (Reprise 0299). This record, released in 1964, was originally issued with a different instrumental B-side in 1964 as Apogee 104 and then re-issued a few years later, with yet another instrumental B-side, as York 408, under the name The Date With Soul. The Reprise version is becoming more and more valuable (the York and Apogee versions are far more common on eBay). If already you have the Apogee and York versions, complete the set and bid now!

 

Hale and the Hushabyes is actually a pseudonym given to the combined efforts of Phil Spector protegee Jack Nitzsche (who produced and arranged), Sonny & Cher, Jackie De Shannon, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys (who offers his unmistakable falsetto on Side A), and Sandy Wynns (who provides lead vocals, though it is also argued that Edna Wright, sister of Darlene Wright, aka Darlene Love, of the Blossoms, is lead vocalist). The vinyl is in NEAR MINT condition (see photo below).


Comes in original factory sleeve. Labels have writing (on the A side only) and date stamp (on both sides). The date stamp says Aug 11 1964. Vinyl has high gloss, just some scuffs. VG++ condition.
