J.S. Bach: Suites for Unaccompanied Violoncello - No.2 in D minor, BWV1008 / No. 5 in C minor, BWV1011

VG minus / FAIR (record / sleeve - see below).
Earliest pressing of this album that comes in a fully laminated and scalloped cover, and in a poly-lined inner sleeve. The record has been cleaned on a Pro-ject VCS MK.II machine with the record placed in a new MFSL anti-static inner.
CONDITION
Examined under a strong halogen lamp, both sides just have sleeve withdrawal marks and scuffs and one tiny 'nick' on track 3, side one (see below). I also sense that the record does not lie perfectly flat and is very slightly and almost imperceptibly dished in the middle. This isn't evident when it plays with no rise and fall of the cartridge head. Otherwise, the record has a really fantastic gloss and is visually graded as Very Good +
When played on a Debut III turntable (freshly balanced tone arm and recently new stylus) it plays with some background surface noise / crackle and the odd very light 'tic' that at no point comes close to overpowering the music. There is also a second of surface noise on the run-in on both sides and for about one second after about 30 seconds of track 1, side 2. There is no visible reason for this. The 'nick' on side one produces about 6 'clicks'. The record does not skip or stick. For me, a play-grade of Good + but you will need to decide. With such an 'open' sound with one unaccompanied instrument surface noise is bound to be heard.
The labels are clean and unmarked with no evident spindle trails
The cover has creasing, one corner of the flipback has lifted, ringwear, a 1cm tear at the opening and surface wear. Because of the tear it is graded as Fair but otherwise would grade as Good+

GRADING GUIDE - IMPORTANT!
I visually examine all records under a strong 35w halogen lamp, which shows up ALL defects.
I strictly grade my records according to the Rare Record Price Guide (RRPG), which, to me, means as follows:
MINT- Must be sealed
NEAR MINT - Totally unmarked, no scratches, not even faint 'hairlines' / sleeve withdrawal marks or any other signs of having been played. I don't use this grade lightly.
EXCELLENT - No scratches, just signs of having been played, such as the odd faint 'hairline' sleeve withdrawal mark that is barely visible under a strong lamp, or spindle trails on the label.
VERY GOOD - The first mild scratches have begun to appear, but only very, very few.
GOOD - More scratches than Very Good and more severe, but I am confident that the record will play through without skips or sticking and will still provide a good listening experience.
FAIR - The record may not play through properly with a chance of it jumping and / or it will play with significant background noise.
POOR - It definitely won't play without skipping or sticking.
Below Near Mint I will use a plus or minus suffix with a grade to highlight fine differences.
COVER GRADES
I try to ensure that my cover grades are EXACTLY as stated in Record Collector magazine / RRPG. Therefore, if a cover is defaced, stained or torn it CANNOT grade better than FAIR. Likewise, if any part of the contents are missing it CANNOT grade better than POOR. However, if the fault is relatively minor and the rest of the cover is overwhelmingly of a certain grade then I will use this grade.
