THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'


This superb UK MONO 1st pressing dates from initial December 1964 release on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1240

Both labels include the 'Sold in U.K...' text with a 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 2 label.


Matrix numbers: XEX 503-3N & XEX 504-3N

Stamper codes: 4/RMD & 2,6/GHA

Vinyl weight: 149g


Housed in an outer laminated gatefold mono cover, complete with original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

An totally unblemished pair with no spindle marks visible around either unworn centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

A superb example which would be extremely difficult to upgrade. 

Both playing surfaces appear 'as new' with little more than a few faint wispy paper marks/hairlines from the inner-sleeve beneath halogen light.

Audio: MINT

So rare to find such an early pressing in this condition. This barely, if ever played disc sounds flawless from start to finish. There is no trace of any crackle or groove/playwear distortion on any track or in either channel - even on the most easily worn passages such as the organ solo on 'Mr Moonlight'. This is as close as you will get to hearing a perfect 1st pressing copy of this album which is guaranteed not to disappoint even the most demanding audiophile.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

Given its fragility, finding this cover after 53 years in anything approaching this condition is quite remarkable.


The delicate front leaf retains a richly colored, high-gloss finish with no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or spine bends.


Both upper & leading edges are sharp and unworn.


The only significant sign of wear here is a touch of shelfwear to the lower edge.


All front corners are in fine unworn shape...


...with clearly defined factory pinched spine ends.


Both panels inside the gatefold are clean undamaged and both flip-over flaps are clean & intact.


The rear panel is as clean & glossy as the front with an unavoidable faint disc impression.


There is also a faint wrinkle beneath George's tie and a small bruise to the upper right corner.


All seams are unstressed and unsplit and the spine is unbend, uncrushed and fully worded.

Clean & crisp with no damage or wear to any part.
