RARE FACTORY SAMPLE, ERNEST J DAY SLEEVE, SUPER RESPECTABLE EXAMPLE, FIRST ISSUE DICK JAMES VERSION!!
This is a RARELY SEEN FACTORY SAMPLE for The Beatles UK DEBUT Album 'Please Please Me' on the SUPERB BLACK and GOLD Parlophone Label, with The Parlophone Co Ltd label rim, and with Made in Gt Britain printed to both sides of the record labels.
Released by Parlophone UK in 1963, this is a FIRST ISSUE with the DICK JAMES Music Co Publishing Credits for the tracks 'I Saw Her Standing There', 'Misery', 'Do You Want To Know A Secret' and 'There's A Place'. Adhered to the side 1 record label is an ORIGINAL and Correct White with red Print FACTORY SAMPLE sticker.
The Official Side 1 Matrix is XEX 421-1N/Side 2 Matrix is XEX 422-1N. Side 1 stampers: 1/T, Side 2 stampers: 1/GD. The embossed 'MT' tax code is visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The Album comes in its ORIGINAL Polythene Lined ‘Use Emitex’ Rice Paper Inner Bag and is protected in its ORIGINAL Ernest J Day laminated THREE Flip back sleeve with large format 'mono' printed to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
Both sides of the record labels are in SUPER IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition, with NO fading to the Impressive Gold Leaf lettering, and barely any spider trails, and just the lightest wear to the centre spindle hole. The factory sample sticker is in Great Shape, NO damage. Side 1 of the vinyl disc is in very nice excellent condition, BRIGHT, UNWORN Vinyl with just a few light wispy hairlines. There is a small scratch that runs from the end of track 5 on side 1, and 2/3rds of the way into track 6, which produces a ‘click’ when played, otherwise a very IMPRESSIVE playing surface. Side 2 of the Vinyl disc is in excellent pluscondition, BARELY played record surface, with no more than just a few light surface hairlines. There are NO scuffs visible to either side of the Vinyl Disc. The EJ Day sleeve is a RESPECTABLE example in very good plus condition. The front panel is CLEAN, still Retains it Deep Laminate Gloss. There is some light wear to the top and bottom seams, mild corner bruising to all four corners, and a tiny crease to the top left hand corner. The opening edge is nice and FLAT. The Reverse panel of the sleeve is RESPECTABLE and free from any handwriting. The top and bottom Flip Backs are UNDAMAGED. There is a tiny piece missing from the very bottom corner of the right hand side flip back, but this is minimal. The Spine edge is FIRM, and the wording 'Please Please Me - The Beatles' clearly legible.
The album plays REMARKABLY WELL, with a clear and POWERFUL early mono sound, with NO jumps.
