Rare 1976 Capitol white label advance promotional issue of Wings At The Speed Of Sound. Having the same catalog number as the standard issue (SW-11525), there were no markings to identify it as a promo, other than the plain white label.

It’s a beautiful piece of vinyl, it’s obviously barely been played. Looking closely, there are a few (and I mean, very few) surface hairline scuffs, but no true scratches and no play wear.

Many sellers would grade it NM, and it is very close to being so. But I’m conservatively (and confidently) grading it as Excellent.

Note in the Side 2 pics that ”Silly Love Songs” has been circled. I read somewhere that this was sometimes done by Capitol reps to identify the single that they wanted DJs to play/promote. 

This copy pretty much confirms that - note the (yellowed) original paper inner sleeve has the words “CUT ONE - SIDE 2 the single” hand written on it. And of course, Cut 1,Side 2 happens to be “SLS.” Kind of adds a cool little extra “period piece” connection.

I’ve kept it in the original plain white outer jacket, which is no big deal of course. Even so, you’ll see in the pic that a little of the white is peeled off.

A nice piece from the heyday of Wings.
