Beatles Please Please Me Mono Gold Original Uk Lp PMC 1202 Crossover Labels Rare.
This is the first issue of the rare beatles first album - but a 2 edition of the first issue. The labels are crossed over so it’s the earliest variation of the second edition - they were still using the dock James music labels that were left over!
This copy has Northern songs publishing credits on side one but the 1st edition dick James publishing credits on side two!
This is a very rare version to find with crossover labels. Much harder than a standard dick James music or northern songs pressing.
The cover is the original 1st issue with the Angus Mcbean photo credit in the far right bottom corner - after the ‘s’ in songs. It is made by Ernest j day. The cover is in very good condition but has a few issues.
There is a little staining from what looks like tea and on the moth of the sleeve some faded tape staining. There is also some rippling to the paper and a very faded name. I have taken photographs of these to show. Otherwise is quite a good sleeve for this issue.
The record labels have the previous owners initials on both sides, but this is written in black pen and is not too noticeable. I photographed the labels in good daylight and the vinyl at various angles to show the writing but also the marks on the vinyl. There are a few scratches, but they do not cause any problem with the play of the album and are barely audible except in the dead wax between songs and a little in quieter moments.
This record plays exceptionally well - a testament to 60’s vinyl and this pressing in particular.
The labels and vinyl are otherwise bright and clean. I would grade the record as very good condition.
Comes with its original EMItex inner sleeve.
