Reel Music is a compilation album featuring a selection of songs by the Beatles that were featured in their films, as the title suggests. The album was released on 22 March 1982 in the United States and the following day in the United Kingdom – almost simultaneously with the theatrical re-release of the film, A Hard Day's Night, which had been "cleaned" and re-edited with stereo Dolby sound. In the US, Reel Music peaked at number 19 on Billboard's albums chart.  The album cover illustrations are a painting by David McMacken.

Individually numbered, advanced promotional pressing on yellow/gold vinyl, issued in the US only to media offices, record stores for in-store play and radio stations before the album was released and were not sold in stores.  Limited to 12,000 pressings.  Each jacket is numbered in the upper right corner on the back, where the barcode would be, and states "LIMITED EDITION Not For Sale". There is no promo designation on the label.

Issued with a 12-page Souvenir Program, custom photo inner sleeve and a hype sticker on the shrink wrap (see photo)

This Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-80's and is the Original Owner of this album.  It is still sealed in the manufacturer's shrink wrap.  The vinyl disc could not be inspected so it is assumed to be in Near Mint condition.  There are no tears or cuts in the shrink wrap.  Because the album is factory sealed, I could not inspect the vinyl album, the labels, or the matrix numbers/symbols/letters in the runout.  Information such as the pressing plant and pressing date were not identified.  The photos may have reflections of the camera, etc.

Around 1974-75, I acquired a full set of Beatles albums as a gift from Capitol Records.  I also acquired other Beatles albums as they were released, such as this album, including solo releases after the Beatles broke up.  Most of these records are in pristine condition and have never been played.  All have their original covers/sleeves/inserts, etc.  My collection of 40 Beatles albums are now being sold individually on Ebay.
