WITH RARE, HARDLY SEEN, EARLIEST FOURTH PROOF PATENTS PENDING SLEEVE, NICE VINYL, COMPLETE WITH FLAME INNER AND UNUSED CUT-OUT!!
Released by Parlophone UK in 1967, this ORIGINAL UK Vinyl MONO LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with Gramophone Co Ltd label rim, With Sold in the UK…., and Made in Gt. Britain label text.
The Vinyl Disc comes in its ORIGINAL Flame Pink and White inner bag together with an ORIGINAL UNUSED Sgt Pepper Cut-Out, and is protected in its ORIGINAL and RARE FOURTH PROOF Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve.
Only VERY FEW of these RARE fourth proof sleeves exist – they are HARDLY SEEN, and were NEVER USED in Final Production. In fact these were some of the EARLIEST FIRST PRESS covers with ‘FOURTH PROOF’ and ‘CATALOGUE/PRINT NUMBER’ printed on the inside top right flip back. The bottom of the reverse of the sleeve is printed ‘PATENTS PENDING’, again RARELY seen on the majority of Sgt Pepper sleeves.
The official Side 1 Matrix: YEX 637-1, Side 2 Matrix: YEX 638-1. Side 1 stampers are 1/M. Side 2 stampers:2/GD. The embossed 'KT' tax code is visible to the Side 2 record label.
Both sides of the Record Labels are in CLEAN excellent condition, with just few light spider trails to either side. Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in RESPECTABLE excellent condition - the Vinyl is CLEAN, with only some light surface lines, but NO scuffs or deep scratches. The Original First Issue, Fourth Proof, LAMINATED Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold sleeve is a RESPECTABLE example and in STRONG very good plus condition. There is NO tearing or handwriting to any part of the sleeve, with only light corner bruising to all corners. The inside of the Gatefold Sleeve is also CLEAN and RESPECTABLE. There is a little wear to the spine edge, however, the wording 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' is clearly readable. The Original Sgt Pepper Cut-Out is in RESPECTABLE condition, as is the Original Flame Coloured Inner Bag, showing inevitable light creasing.
The album plays extremely well without any skips or jumps.
